You Have Good Taste: Friends of Nebraska Children Thanks You for Showing Up to the Perfect Pour!

Nebraska Children and Families Foundation loves that you help us create positive change every day.
Thanks to your support, we’ve continued to enhance programs like our own Connected Youth Initiative (CYI) that creates positive outcomes for resilient young people who experienced foster care. Beyond School Bells (BSB), our afterschool network, continues to spread expanded learning opportunities far and wide from Nebraska to Taiwan. Rooted in Relationships (RiR) encourages children to enjoy loving and healthy interactions with friends, families, and caregivers. Communities for Kids (C4K) works statewide to create quality care during the childcare crisis.

We have you to thank for these efforts. Whether through contributing to our organization, sharing our social media posts, or attending our events, there are many ways you support our mission.
We especially appreciate those of you who attend our yearly fundraisers, including Perfect Pour. We rang in this year’s event with an Amalfi Coast theme, Nebraska’s finest bartenders, and Rosolio di Bergamotto liqueur. Of course, Perfect Pour was even more perfect with observing live oil painting, reuniting with friends, and dancing the night away.

This year’s Perfect Pour took place on Friday, August 19, at the Omaha Empire Room. We were glad to see you dressed in your Italian beachside best while sipping our state’s best mixologists’ drinks.
We want to congratulate the winners of this year’s craft cocktail competition: The first-place recipient was Deion Bass from Proof Whiskey Bar & Craft Cocktails! Trevor Anderson (runner-up) from Nosh also won the People’s Choice Award.

And we’re grateful to the other talented finalists: Mikey D’Amato of Nite Owl, Kenzie Rhode from Maven Social, Dan Ripley from The Cottonwood Room/Committee Chophouse, and Alexis Ramirez from the Kimpton Cottonwood Hotel.

First-place recipient, Deion Bass, said, “It’s been a great honor competing against some of the best and brightest for such a great cause. I’m humbled and grateful. While winning is always great, being surrounded by so much talent and camaraderie is its own reward.”

We also thank Prime Positano Sponsors, Omaha Vets, John K. and Lynne D. Boyer Foundation, and Nomi Health.

Other supporters include Splendid Sorrento Sponsors, Titanium Fire and Sprinkler, Omaha Empire Room, Enterprise Bank, K&K Masonry, Nick Mazgaj & Heather Woodford, CQuence Health Group, and Lutz.
Finally, we thank our Bello Ravello sponsors, Dr. Rudy and Suzanne Kotula, Dermatology Specialists of Omaha, Kutak Rock LLP, and Gavilon Group, LLC., The Walker Family, and Attitude On Food.
Thank you, again, for supporting programs for our children, youth, and families. Please, never underestimate the power of showing up.

If you couldn’t attend this year’s Perfect Pour, we have more opportunities for you to join our cause for all Nebraska’s children to thrive. This fall, we’d love to see you at Changemakers, our yearly celebration of people who positively transform children’s lives!

This year’s luncheon is on Tuesday, October 26, from 11:30 am-1:00 pm at Embassy Suites LaVista, Omaha. Each year, we bring in an inspirational speaker to discuss a child well-being-related issue. We’ll also update you on all the work happening across the state to strengthen Nebraska families and children.

Our speaker for Changemakers 2022 is Jerry Milner, who led the US Children’s Bureau from 2017-2021.
Meanwhile, please consider giving your gift to Nebraska Children at any time. Thank you for being so supportive in all your generous iterations!
