Sweeter Every Year: Nebraska Children Thanks You for Making the Perfect Pour Worth the Wait

Nebraska Children and Families Foundation loves that every day, supporters like you help us create positive change.

From working together to create quality, early childhood programs to helping infants and toddlers receive the best possible start in life to supporting young people with foster care experience, we’re inspired by your willingness to help us create a better Nebraska.

You accomplish this feat by simply showing up, either in spirit or in person.

Another way you support Nebraska Children is through attending our yearly fundraisers, including Perfect Pour. Thanks to you, we made this year’s event and craft cocktail competition even sweeter by sampling our state’s leading mixologists’ Tequila Avion drinks, which was this year’s mixer of choice. We had fun reuniting with old friends, all the while supporting programs that strengthen our families, children, and youth.

We’re grateful to have celebrated another spirited Perfect Pour craft cocktail competition, and we couldn’t have done it without you! Although we had rescheduled the initial event due to the pandemic, we’re glad to have seen you and everyone back in the saddle, having a great time, and helping Nebraska’s children thrive.

We brought in this year’s Perfect Pour on Friday, August 27, from 7-11 pm at The Barn at Ackerhurst Dairy Farm in Bennington, Nebraska. We were glad to see that you brought your good Country Vibes and Tequila Twist to match our theme, complemented by Dylan Bloom’s country rock music.

Although everyone’s endured a challenging past year, this year’s Perfect Pour was long overdue and well worth the wait. We were delighted to see you show up in your country best, dance the night away, and create a better Nebraska – right where you belong.

Moreover, we’d like to say congratulations to the winners of this year’s craft cocktail competition! Tyler Schaeffer (1st), Phil Athy (2nd), Deion Bass, who won the People’s Choice Award, and all the talented finalists. The other contenders included Emily Weskirchen and Dominick Pruch.

First place recipient Tyler Schaeffer said, “I’m grateful to have been a part of such an exciting and well-run event. I really enjoyed the energy and especially tasting all the amazing creations from my fellow competitors.”

“Crowd favorite! It’s an honor,” said Deion. “However, the thing that I found the most touching was seeing all the people back to having fun and enjoying a night out. Seems like it’s been forever,” he said.

Deion said that the Perfect Pour proved to be a night he’ll always remember. “I cherish every moment. ‘Grats to everyone who came out to participate! [I] miss you guys!” he said.

We’d also like to mention the lucky winners of the event’s raffle. The winner of the Nashville trip was Zachary Cerise; the winner of the Tequila Pairing Dinner Party was Bo Gebbie.

We’re particularly thankful to the event sponsors, including the Sunny Durham Family Foundation, our presenting sponsor, along with other generous individuals and organizations.

Other supporters include Aces High Anejo sponsors: the Parsen Foundation and Avion Tequila. We’re grateful, as well, to Renegade Reposado sponsors, Ridgeview Animal Hospital, RDG Construction, Duncan Aviation, Jeff and Melanie Koraleski, and Titanium Sprinkler.

Finally, we’d like to thank our Big Shooter Blanco sponsors, Baird Holm and Fraser-Stryker, LLC. Of course, numerous other generous organizations and people made up our Silver City Slicker sponsors, too, for which we’re thankful.

We're grateful to all of our sponsors, particularly our leading one!

Thank you, again, for supporting programs for our children, youth, and families. Please, never underestimate the power of showing up. We’ve set the next Perfect Pour date for March 5, 2022, so we hope to see you there.

In any case, even if you weren’t able to attend this year’s Perfect Pour, we have plenty more opportunities for you to join us and support our cause for all Nebraska’s children to thrive.

We’d love you to consider giving to Nebraska Children at any time. Our next event is Changemakers. You can get tickets here for this year’s luncheon on Tuesday, October 26 from 11:30 am-1:00 pm. Changemakers is our yearly celebration of people who make remarkable contributions to children’s lives.

Please don't forget about Changemakers! You can RSVP today and hear about all the great things people are doing to change children's lives for the better.
