Nebraska Children Supporters Show Their Wild Hearts at the Perfect Pour Event!

The heart of Nebraska beats strong with a community that is fiercely dedicated to the well-being and growth of its children. This spirit was on full display at the 7th Annual Perfect Pour event, where Nebraska Children and Families Foundation supporters gathered to raise their glasses, and their voices in support of a cause that lies close to their hearts.

Perfect Pour: Wild at Heart, a craft cocktail tasting benefiting Nebraska Children, presented by Friends of Nebraska Children took place on August 26, 2023 at Lauritzen Gardens in Omaha, Nebraska. This event showcased the creativity and expertise of local mixologists who crafted cocktails using Monkey 47 – Schwarzwald Dry Gin.

The theme of the event, “Wild At Heart,” was a reminder that supporting children is not just about meeting their basic needs, but about unleashing their limitless potential. Just like the wild prairie that Nebraska is known for, children possess an innate wildness – a curiosity, creativity, and determination that deserves to be nurtured.

Supporters, dressed in stylish safari attire inspired by the theme, showed their passion for the cause by participating in the craft cocktail tasting, silent auction, and raffle ticket purchases. More than a gathering; the event was a statement when community comes together with a shared purpose, they can make a difference.

Imaginative, mouthwatering cocktails paired with live music and entertainment sprinkled with great company created a memorable event.

As the glasses clinked and the laughter flowered, a resounding message echoed through the event – the heart of Nebraska beats for its children. The event serves as a reminder that as individuals we have the power to make a difference, and when those efforts are combined, the impact becomes so much more.

Perfect Pour is made possible through the dedicated efforts of Friends of Nebraska Children, our generous event sponsors, and the incredible talent of the night. Together, the goal is to create a memorable event that not only delights the senses, but also contributes to the future of Nebraska’s children.

We’re particularly thankful to the event sponsors, with presenting sponsor The Sunny Durham Family Foundation and entertainment sponsor Monkey 47 – Schwarzwald Dry Gin. We are also thankful for other generous individuals and organizations including Duncan Aviation, Gaines Family, Lutz, Alison and Fernando Guiterrez, Kutak Rock, Titanium Fire Sprinkler Company, Dermatology Specialists of Omaha, Fraser Stryker, Dr. Rudy and Suzanne Kotula and Scheels.

Event talent included mixologists from the Lincoln/Omaha areas, including:

  • Alexis Ramirez, Omaha
  • Hannah Randoja, Lincoln
  • Melissa Leuschen, Omaha
  • Deion Bass, Omaha
    2023 People’s Choice Winner
  • Mark Beneda, Omaha
  • Kenzie Rhode, Omaha

In addition, attendees enjoyed the sounds of the marimba by Mike Pollock and reggae with the Ro Hempel Band.

Thanks to your support through events like Perfect Pour, Nebraska Children has continued to enhance programs like our Connected Youth Initiative (CYI) that creates positive outcomes for resilient young people who experienced foster care. Beyond School Bells (BSB), our afterschool network, continues to spread expanded learning opportunities far and wide from Nebraska to Taiwan. Rooted in Relationships (RiR) encourages loving and healthy interactions between children and their friends, families, and caregivers. Communities for Kids (C4K) works statewide to create access to quality childcare to communities where it is desperately needed.

In a world where distractions and divisions can sometimes cloud our focus, Perfect Pour offered an opportunity of unity, passion, and hope for the bright future of Nebraska’s children.
